Payment

Payment is simple and safe using PayPal. 

Please note that you DO NOT need to have a PayPal account to pay by PayPal, when you check out you will be taken to PayPal where you be asked to sign into your PayPal account or you can CHECK OUT AS A GUEST.

Please use the CHECK OUT AS A GUEST option if you do not want to set up a PayPal account.  You will enter your card details and your order will be paid but you will not have a PayPal account set up.  It is safe and secure to pay this way.

Order Processing

We want you to receive your jewellery as soon as possible, so we try to process and despatch your order as quickly as we can.  You will receive an email to say when your item has been despatched.

Delivery

WE CAN DELIVER TO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD (ALMOST!)

 (if the UK Royal Mail  delivers to your country, then we can deliver to you)

We deliver by Royal Mail Airsure to the following countries .
Europe: Andorra, Austria, Azores, Balearic Islands, Belgium, Canary Islands, Corsica, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Madeira, Monaco, Netherlands, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Rest of the World: Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand and USA.

If your country is not shown in the above list then we can send your parcel by Royal Mail International Signed For

  • Please be aware that import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or postage charges.
  • These charges are the buyer?s responsibility.
  • Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to buying.

We have posted to a lot of countries including America and all over Europe with no problems.

 

 

Delivery Costs

£2.50 for orders up to £9.98 and free delivery for orders over £9.99 for UK orders.

Royal Mail Special Delivery

Please note that if we use Royal Mail Special Delivery to send your parcel then this will need to be signed for.  If you are not in, Royal Mail will leave a card detailing where you can collect your parcel from or have it redelivered.

We use Royal Mail to deliver your jewellery. 

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOUR HOME ADDRESS OR DELIVERY ADDRESS IS DIFFERENT FROM WHAT EXISTS ON ROYAL MAILS' DATABASE THEN WE MAY NEED TO SEND YOU AN EMAIL TO CONFIRM YOUR CORRECT ADDRESS.  WE CANNOT POST YOUR ORDER UNTIL WE HAVE RECEIVED A REPLY AND SOLVED WHY YOUR ADDRESS DIFFERS FROM ROYAL MAILS RECORDS'.

 

Purchasing

All items offered on our website are subject to availability. To purchase any of the items on our Web Site, click the "Add to Basket" button shown on each product page. When you place an order to purchase a product by clicking the button "Order Now", we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your order and containing the details of your order.

1. This first email is not an order acceptance from us but is an acknowledgement that we have received your order and will confirm the goods you have ordered.

2. When we have established that we have the goods and the price is correct and we are able to process your card payment then we will despatch the goods and send you a confirmation email that the goods are posted. This means we formally accept the order and are obliged to complete the contract.

We do not have to accept your order if

  • We do not have the goods in stock
  • Your payment is not authorised
  • There is an error on our website regarding the price or other details of the goods

Incorrect Returns

If you return an item that you were not entitled to return then we will not be able to refund or exchange your item.  You will then have to pay us to return the item to you at your cost.  If you return an item that you claim is faulty and it is checked and verifyed as not faulty then we will hold the item until you pay for it to be returned.

Special Orders or Custom Orders

Special orders are non-returnable and non-refundable. If you are searching for a specific item that we do not normally hold in stock but we are able to obtain it for you at your request, then this is classed as a "special order".  Special orders are also known as custom orders.  Custom orders do not have the same distance selling regulation rights as other normal orders place on this website.  When you choose to submit a special order, the item may not be returned or exchanged.  If you would like to place a special order then full payment must be made in advance, you will then be obligated to accept the item purchased.  We would make it clear to you before you make a purchase that it is a special order and as such is non-returnable and non-refundable.

 

Prices

While we make every effort to ensure that the goods shown on our website are currently available at the price shown, we cannot guarantee that this will always be the case. If the goods you have ordered are unavailable, you will be notified as soon as possible. Unfortunately, due to human error it can be possible for a pricing error to occur on our website. If you place an order for an item that turns out to be incorrectly priced, we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of buying the goods at the correct price or cancelling the order. Your order will be cancelled if we are unable to contact you regarding the error.

All prices are in £ sterling. Delivery charges are not included in the prices quoted. 

 

Jewellery Information

All our products state the type of metal, whether it be gold, silver, platinum or palladium etc

Natural stone colours may vary.

Some natural stones may have been treated to obtain their colour.

 

Jewellery Measurements

Carat weights are approximate.  Carat weight for earrings are per pair.

Width - this is the width of the item at its widest. Length - for pendants the length includes the bail and earrings includes the earwire unless stated otherwise. Weight of earrings is the combined weight of both the earrings.

Jewellery Pictures

Pendants - When we show a picture of a pendant that is displayed on a chain, the price and product description only refers to the pendant and not the chain.  If the product is described as a pendant then you will only receive a pendant and not a chain.  Chains can be bought separately.

We try to show the picture of the individual products you are to receive. However, with some products where we have multiple numbers in stock the product may be slightly different to the picture shown. In this case we aim to say on the product information by stating that due to the natural variation of gemstones this product may vary from the picture shown.

 

 

Cancellation and Returns Policy

 

Returning Unwanted Goods -   Returning items within 14 working days of receipt

 

You have 14 days to cancel your purchase for non-faulty goods

1.     In the EU, you have the right to cancel your online purchase with 14 working days.  The 14-day "cooling off" period begins on the day when you receive your purchase.  You can choose to cancel your order for any reason within this timeframe - even if you simply changed your mind.

2.     To take advantage of the 14 day cooling off period, you must send your request in writing by email to info@lyrestudio.com within 7 working days of receipt.

3.     Lyre Studio will refund you as soon as possible but definitely within 30 days.  This refund will include any postage charges you paid when you made your purchase.

4.     However, you will have to pay the postage costs of returning the goods to Lyre Studio.  These return postage costs will not be paid.

Returning Unwanted Goods -   Returning items between 14 and 30 days after receipt

 

When you are returning a purchase between 14 and 30 days after delivery, Lyre Studio will only refund the cost of the purchase and not the delivery charges.  You are also required to pay the postage to the item to Lyre Studio.

 

  • Should you cancel the contract we will then refund you the price you have paid for the goods.
  • It is your responsibility to give notice of your wish to cancel within this cancellation period by email, telephone or letter.
  • You are under a duty to take reasonable care of the goods.
  • The goods must be returned in an unused, unworn and saleable condition at your expense and we would recommend for your own protection that you use a recorded delivery service.
  • Please ensure that you use the correct postage to send your item back otherwise it will incur a service charge from the Post Office to deliver your item. We will have to deduct the service charge from your refund.
  • You can check your postage is correct by using the Royal Mail website or take it to your local Post Office.
  • Refunds will be credited to your original method of payment.
  • Return the item along with the invoice in their original condition, unused with tags, box and free from the smells of perfume, alcohol, detergent, smoke.
  • If you return an item or items that have been used and are not in their original condition then we will not be able to refund your purchase price and you will need to pay for the item to be returned to you.
  • Buyer is required to pay for postage to return the item to the seller.

  • If an item is returned to us as undelivered and the buyer wishes for the item to be resent, then postage will need to be paid for again.  If the item is not needed to be resent, then the full price of the item will be refunded but not the original postage.

This policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Exclusions

The following products may not be returned under this policy.

  • any product made to your specification for example a wedding ring
  • any product made to order for example a necklace specially commissioned 
  • any engraved items to your specification.

Faulty Goods

A item is deemed to be faulty if the fault was there at time of purchase.  An item of jewellery is not faulty if after wearing the jewellery and subjecting the item to wear and tear through your daily activities, the item of jewellery becomes broken.  This is not faulty but instead misuse of a piece of jewellery and therefore is not subject to a refund.  Please remember that jewellery are items of adornment and should be removed before gardening, washing up, bathing, swimming and even sleeping in bed.  This list is not exhaustive.

The main legislation relating to the return of goods is the Sales of Goods Act 1979.  This Act is there to protect the customer and the seller.

There are many variables in the Sales of Goods Act 1979, and exact definitions are often open to interpretation.  As a retailer Lyre Studio want our customers to be happy customers and we abide by the Law in a fair and even way.  In summary there are three main areas of the act that apply to your purchase of jewellery.

 

  • Fit for Purpose

Is the item of jewellery fit for purpose?   Is the item of jewellery able to used under reasonable conditions?  This is the area where most people have problems.

For example, if you buy a silver bangle to wear on your wrist and it is a little large, you may decide to squeeze the bangle to fit your wrist and then unsqueeze the bangle to remove.  The bangle then breaks, this isn't because the bangle is not fit for purpose or faulty.  The bangle has broken because of misuse.  This bangle would not be entitled to a refund.

  • Meets the Description

All goods sold are required to meet with the description given to them which may be a description stated by the seller or something printed on the website.  If the goods do not meet with the description this could give the customer an option to return the goods based on breach of contract.

  • Meets with Quality

Goods are expected to meet with the level of quality that would be reasonable given the context of the goods or services.  All goods should be free from any material defects regardless of their price.  However, there is clearly a shift of expectation depending on the price of the goods.
